I keep a journal and follow online spaces where people share stories of healing, pain, and resilience. Writing has always been a way of letting go, of making sense of the silence carried for years. This is not a story about anyone else—it is about the journey of one person who has learned to survive childhood trauma, navigate adult depression, and slowly begin to heal.
When the Pain Began
Trauma entered life at an early age through an experience no child should ever endure. Being molested too young to understand left scars that ran deep, shaping how self-worth was seen and how love was sought. Instead of feeling protected, there was a sense of being broken and unwanted.
That silence carried into adulthood. With low self-esteem and a body that society judged harshly, validation was often sought in the wrong places. Words whispered by others, even when empty, felt like comfort. They weren’t love—but in the moment, they sounded like love. And so, harmful cycles began.
